Class Information & Client Forms

We schedule our private sessions on the following days and times.

Fridays:      9 am to 4 pm

Saturdays: 9 am to 4 pm

If you cannot schedule your lessons on one of these days, occasionally we can make an exception when time permits.

We will be adding group class options later this year as pandemic restrictions allow.

Registration and Payment

  • Full Payment is due at your first class.

  • Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable after your first lesson.

Missed Classes

If you must miss a class, we will reschedule as soon as possible. Please try to request a change in your scheduled class time 24 hours in advance. All packages must be used within 8 weeks of purchase.

Class Attendance Requirements and Training Supplies You Will Need for Class

  • Unless otherwise scheduled, private classes are 50 minutes to 1-hour long and are scheduled weekly.

  • Group classes are scheduled weekly and are 50 to 1-hour long.

  • Dogs must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations.

  • All dogs should be allowed to go to the bathroom prior to class.

  • Bring a variety of treats your dog really likes to each class and bring more than you think you will need.

  • Bring an edible chew or stuffed Kong to each class.

  • Arrive and be prepared to start the class on time. Late arrivals cause disruption to other clients scheduled after you. Your dog should be equipped with a flat nylon, leather, or martingale collar, harness as needed, and 4-6 foot leash. We do not permit prong or choke collars, slip leads, electronic collars, or retractable leashes in class.

Family participation is encouraged. Bringing family members allows for more harmonious homework for your dog at home. Parents must supervise children and children must remain within the training area throughout the class. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dog Suitability For Group Classes

Unless otherwise specified, all dogs attending group classes must be:

  • Comfortable and friendly with other dogs and unfamiliar people.

  • Dogs must not be reactive to other dogs on leash. Even if your dog is friendly while OFF leash, on-leash reactivity, is not appropriate for a group class setting.

  • Please review all our policies prior to registration.

At the trainer's discretion, dogs deemed dangerous, disruptive, aggressive or highly fearful will be removed from group classes without a refund. If you are unsure your dog is a suitable candidate for a group class, please call us to chat first prior to enrollment. Not having met your dog prior to the start of the class, we rely on you for this information. We suggest you read the dog attendance limitations carefully before making your purchase so you can choose the best class option for your dog.

Dog Attendance Limitations For Group Classes

While we are able to offer a wide range of skills-based training in groups, ethically, we cannot address severe behavior challenges without a behavior history and these are generally done in private training. Think of behavior challenges as things that upset your dog.

  • My dog hides from....

  • My dog hates ....

  • My dog growls when...

  • My dog lunges at...

  • My dog snaps at...

  • My dog is stressed when...

  • My dog acts nervously around...

  • My dog is terrible around...

We would like to help you with them, but want to do it the right way. With these types of behaviors, there are lots of variables we need to consider when setting out to modify them. Without taking the time to assess the behavior, contingencies, household factors, etc, we'd be doing both you and your dog a disservice. Fortunately with young dogs, at least with many of these issues, early intervention often means quick progress and we can sometimes get your dog back on track with just a few sessions. If something comes up with your pup and you're not sure if it's serious, just ask us! Puppies sometimes do things that look crazy but are actually completely normal. We're here to assist you in getting the help you need. We'll let you know if it's just normal puppy development or if a private session needs to be scheduled.

Cancellation of Classes

We only have a limited number of spots each week for our private classes.  We ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you cannot attend your lessons.  We keep our rates reasonable by relying on each person to do their part and attend the lessons they are scheduled for. Thanks for understanding.

If the minimum enrollment for any group class is not met, you will be notified 24 hours prior to the class start date by email or telephone.  You will be offered the option to enroll in another class if needed, receive credit toward another class or receive a full refund. In the event of a weather cancellation, you will be notified via email 2 hours prior to your class start time. It is a good idea to check your email prior to heading out during excessive rain/flooding or heavy snow. Makeup classes will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Please see all of our policies before you register for any class
